Efficiency and Emission of Boiler for Pig Farm Heating and Incineration Dead Animals by Using Biomass and Gas

Abstract

The paper describes a hot-water boiler with thermal power of 750 kW for heating a pig farm by burning biomass with the firebox (burning chamber) adapted for incineration dead animals and animal waste using liquefied gas as additional fuel. Biomass which is used as biofuel for the boiler is wheat and soybean straw. By using straw as renewable and alternative fuel significant amount of conventional fuel is saved (liquefied gas and electric energy) which is now used for heating the pig farm in Veliki Radinci near Sremska Mitrovica. Producing capacity of farm is 15,000 fattening pigs per year. Yearly consumption of soybean straw is 1,700 t (or wheat straw 1,970 t), at surface of 565 ha (in regard to 660 ha). The necessary amounts of straw, the way of gathering, transporting, storage and dosing into the boiler firebox are set. The expenses of gathering, transporting and storage are about 1,8 din/kg (or 2.18 eurocents/kg). Usage of straw as biofuel is 6 times more useful than luquefied gas. The terms for plaguing and building this kind of boiler houses are presented. It will be the technical description of the boiler with its scheme. Ecological significance of using biomass and burning dead animals and animal waste is presented from the standpoint of the European legislation. Besides the dead animals and animal waste in the boiler firebox all the biological waste from the veterinary stations and medicines whose expiry date has passed can be burned. The boiler with the special firebox will be used at all pig and poultry farms, slaughterhouses and food industry.

U radu je obrađen vrelovodni (toplovodni) kotao termičke snage 750 kW za zagrevanje farme svinja sagorevanjem biomase, čije je ložište prilagođeno za spaljivanje uginulih životinja i konfiskata korišćenjem naftnog tečnog gasa kao dopunskog goriva. Biomasa koja se koristi kao biogorivo za pogon kotla je sojina ili pšenična slama. Upotrebom slame kao obnovljivog i alternativnog goriva postižu se značajne uštede konvencionalnog goriva (tečnog gasa i električne energije), koje se sada troši za zagrevanje Farme svinja "Mitrosrem" u Velikim Radincima kod Sremske Mitrovice. Proizvodni kapacitet farme je 15.000 tovljenika godišnje. Godišnji utrošak sojine slame je 1.700 t (ili pšenične 1.970 t), sa površine od 565 ha (odnosno 660 ha). Troškovi prikupljanja, transporta i skladištenja slame su oko 1,8 din/kg). Ekonomska opravdanost korišćenja biomase kao energenta dokazana je u činjenici da se korišćenje slame 6 puta više isplati od tečnog gasa. U radu su izneti uslovi za projektovanje i građenje ovakvih kotlarnica. Dat je tehnički opis kotla sa šemom kotla. Obrađen je ekološki značaj upotrebe biomase i spaljivanja uginulih životinja i konfiskata sa stanovišta evropskih propisa. Osim uginulih životinja i konfiskata u ložištu kotla može se bezbedno spaliti sav biološki otpad iz veterinarske stanice i lekovi kojima je prošao rok upotrebe. Kotao sa specijalnim ložištem moći će naći primenu na svim farmama svinja, u klanicama živine i u prehrambenoj industriji.
